THE ROLE
We are looking for an experienced and motivated PHP developer to join our dynamic team to manage our back-end services and ensure a seamless interchange of data between the server and our users. As a PHP developer, you will be responsible for developing and coding all server-side logic. You will also be required to maintain the central database and respond to requests from front-end developers.
To ensure success as a PHP developer, you should have in-depth knowledge of object-oriented PHP programming, understanding of MVC designs, and working knowledge of front-end technologies including HTML5, JavaScript, and CSS3. Ultimately, a top-level PHP Developer can design and build efficient PHP modules while seamlessly integrating front-end technologies.
You will work across the Full Stack – and develop on both the backend and frontend on a cutting-edge web-based application, add new functionality to the existing web application and maintain code. You will utilise experience in concepts such as SEO, Internationalisation and code versioning.

RESPONSIBILITIES
• Working with the development team to develop web & eCommerce solutions
• Design and develop front-end and back-end web application solutions
• Build internal products and solutions for clients
• Contributing to and authoring software design specs in multiple parts of the stack
• Coding new features within the existing system
• Coding new and critical pieces of the system
• Ensuring that your coding is of the highest quality using best practises
• Working closely with management and directors to effectively manage projects
• Writing back-end code and building efficient PHP modules.
• Developing back-end portals with an optimized database.
• Finalizing back-end features and testing web applications.
• Coding back-end services to support multiple departments within the business
• Troubleshooting application and code issues.
• Bug fixing in existing applications
• Conducting analysis of website and application requirements.
• Updating and altering application features to enhance performance.
• Integrating data storage solutions.
• Responding to integration requests from front-end developers.
• Participating at the highest level on the Technology team to continuously improve our development process
• Participating in a Scrum development methodology
• Reviewing code from other team members
• Mentoring team members in coding and process best practices
• Leading the team in translating user stories and other requirements into clear and focused implementation plans
• Promote consistency of work across Clients
• Working in a cross-functional team to design, develop, and maintain responsive and user-friendly e-commerce websites.
• Implementing visually appealing and intuitive user interfaces using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
• Integrating with backend systems using PHP to ensure seamless data flow and optimal site performance.
• Participating in the entire application lifecycle, from concept and design to testing, deployment, and maintenance.

EXPERIENCE
• PHP Development : 3 years (Essential)
• JSON : 1 year (preferred)
• SQL/MySQL : 2 year (preferred)
• Git : 1 year (preferred)
• Proven experience in backend PHP development.
• Proven experience in responsive design principles.
• Proven experience in version control systems, preferably Git.
• Proven experience in PHP web frameworks including Codeignite.
• Proven experience in e-commerce platforms and systems is a plus.
• Proven experience in problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Proven experience in front-end technologies including CSS3, JavaScript, and HTML5.
• Proven experience in creating scalable applications.
SKILLS
• Ability to communicate technical information to non-technical people
• Understanding of web security, accessibility and usability
• Knowledge of SEO techniques and best practices
• Excellent communication skills in the English language
• Excellent communication skills to explain technical subjects to non-technical people
QUALIFICATIONS
Degree qualification in computer science or related subject is preferable
